Weekly Roundup – Momentum’s Finest On Saturdays VOL 1 [FEB. 17]
The Weekly Roundup – Momentum’s Finest on Saturdays is a collection of my favorite blog posts, podcast episodes and other content that I’ve enjoyed over the recent week. The content will more than likely be from the latest week but might extend back a few weeks or months if it’s still new to me.
I will release this series of posts in a curated format every Saturday (…hence the name).
There is so much amazing content released across all mediums each week. My goal is to share this in an easy to digest, curated format to deliver value and profile these great content creators.
The content featured will follow similar themes to the topics shared on Making Momentum: Personal Finance, Side Hustles, Travel, Lifestyle and Health & Fitness.
Without further ado, let’s get into the Weekly Roundup – Momentum’s Finest on Saturdays VOL 1 [FEB. 17].
The Cost Of Pet Ownership: The Good, The Bad And The Ugly from J.D. Roth of Get Rich Slowly
As someone who is anxious to add a canine into his life, I found this post from JD very timely and personally relevant. I grew up with a family dog so I knew they were costly, but it was never my bank account that was taking the hit (outside of the occasional treat or toy). Bringing a pet into the fold is a big decision and ensuring the proper budget arraignments have been made is key. J.D. lays all this out and more in this great post.
I Made $100,000+ In A Weekend…What Did It Feel Like? from Bobby Hoyt of Millennial Money Man
Bobby of Millennial Money Man recently launched his Facebook Side Hustle Course…to a $100K+ launch! It’s a pretty unique read that lets you get inside the mind of someone who is legitimately seeing their life change before their eyes…but the main plot of the post is that it didn’t change him. Bobby is a great blogger and one of the reasons I started this blog so I was glad to see this success come his way.
2017 Credit Card Rewards from ESI Money
ESI shares the specific credit cards and spending strategies that helped earn over $3,900 in cash back rewards during 2017. That brings his total to $17,500 since 2016. It’s a quick read but helps open your mind to what’s possible with proper credit card usage.

LIFESTYLE & WELLNESS
Kill It: Don’t Let Experts Talk You Out Of Success from Steve of Think Save Retire
This post could live under the Personal Finance header but I really enjoyed the overall message of this post for life in general. The standard path to anywhere in life isn’t always the right one. No matter how many talking heads or experts try to tell you to do it their way. It’s all about what you want, what fits best for you and whatever works most effectively for you. Steve provides good context to this mindset in a straightforward way.
One Simple Shift To Turn Your Life Into An Adventure from Leo Babauta of Zen Habits
Everything that comes from Leo at Zen Habits is high-quality, engaging and thought-provoking. His most recent post on Turning Your Life Into An Adventure is no different. In a sort of Carpe Diem approach of embracing the thrill of not-knowing, Leo helps put a spin on the mindset of your normal daily routine.
Escaping The Monotony Of The Cubicle Life from Amy of Life Zemplified
A great celebratory moment for Amy who just completed her last day of full-time salaried work and has officially left the cubicle. The post helps profile the flexibility that being financially independent provides you in terms of a lifestyle. “Retirement” doesn’t necessarily mean kicking up your feet, it can be about the ability to now pursuit what’s most important to you. For Amy that sounds like family, side hustles and growth.
The DIY Approach To Building Skills, Becoming A Millionaire & Finding Your Passion from FIRE Drill Podcast
What do you get when 3 of your favorite personal finance bloggers get together? This very enjoyable podcast episode! The hosts of FIRE Drill Podcast, Gwen from Fiery Millennials and Jay from Millennial Boss, are joined by guest Grant Sabatier from Millennial Money. They discuss taking control of your career, entrepreneurship, side hustles and so much more.

Chris shares his story, biggest successes and processes in an engaging discussion with Pete.

How Adam Gilbert Quit Corporate America and Now Helps Thousands Live a Healthier Life from Noah Kagan Presents
After a month hiatus Noah Kagan is back with a new podcast episode! I am a big fan of Noah so when I saw this pop-up in my Podcast subscription feed, I was very excited. This show features Adam Gilbert of My Body Tutor. It’s a must listen for anyone sick of their corporate job who has dreams of pursuing a passion.
Rewards Strategy For Power Spenders from Abroaders Travel Podcast
Erik and A.J. from The Abroaders Travel Podcast have a discussion on a variety of topics regarding travel rewards and credit cards. The episode is a nice refresher for travel hackers on the current status of offerings from the major travel rewards cards.

A new book, WEconomy, set to be released in early March by the founders of Me to We and Free the Children as well as Richard Brandon’s daughter, Holly Branson.
