Life Is Short, So Why Not Buy What You Want? from The Three Year Experiment
An engaging read from Laurie at The Three Year Experiment that holds true. The power of YOLO/FOMO can hook us and it can often feel like spending is the right thing to do. However, a short run of impulse spending can derail the train of self-discipline. She includes a great personal anecdote: “Without a doubt, the best decisions I’ve made involve trading short-term and fleeting happiness over buying a thing (a car, a bigger house) for giving myself more time and experiences with the people I love.”

Wow! Rob at The College Investor has launched a powerful initiative.
From his introduction to the ‘Movement‘: “This is an awesome month-long event where we are trying to educate, inspire, and encourage action. The goal is to see if we can (as a collective community) pay down or eliminate $1,000,000 in student loan debt.”
I joined the movement as I too am still working towards paying off my student loans (see my post My Plan To Eliminate My Student Loans – Crushing The Debt).
As an incentive, The College Investor is prizing away $500 towards helping pay one members student loan debt. If you use my link, I will get an extra entry in the draw!
